The Shimano BB-RS501 bottom bracket allows you to install a crankset with a 24 mm axle into a road bike frame with threaded bearing. Depending on the version, it is a BSA or ITA bottom bracket shell with 68 mm or 70 mm width. Shimano recommends BB-RS501 for the cranksets of the Tiagra, Sora, Claris, Alfine, GRX RX600 series and for a number of no-group models. It features an optimised seal design that extends durability. The bearings are made of steel, the bearing cups of anodised aluminium. In combination with a corresponding crankset, this bottom bracket and its Hollowtech II technology ensures stability and efficiency with every pedal rotation.
